Is stress impacting the way you live? Do you toss and turn at night? Experience anxiety or panic attacks? Lack energy to LIVE, SMILE, LAUGH?

If you answered yes to any of these please continue reading!

What is stress doing to our bodies?

When stressed, our bodies automatically begin producing more adrenaline and cortisol, hormones that make the heart beat faster, blood pressure rise, and directly impacts the digestive system. Our reaction to stress is to turn on the "Fight or Flight" response in which the energy resources shift towards the perceived threat.

Muscle Tension: When stressed, our muscles tense up and this long held contraction can trigger tension headaches, migraines, and musculo-skeletal conditions.

Respiratory Conditions: Stress causes rapid breathing, even on a subconscious level, and may lead to hyperventilation or even panic attacks.

Cardiovascular System: Even acute stress, like being stuck in traffic, may increase the heart rate and contractions of the heart muscle. This action increase the flow of blood. Increasing the amount of blood pumped to the larger muscles and heart may cause inflammation in the coronary arteries, thought to lead to heart attack.

Gastrointestinal System: Stress may cause you to consume more or less food. It may also affect digestions and the proper absorption of nutrients, leading to diarrhea or constipation.

Peace of Mind: When stressed, we loose sleep and often feel tired and angry. We loose sight of our breath and often times overwork ourselves, physically and emotionally.

What can I do to help relieve this stress?

All of us combat stress in different forms in everyday life! Our body mind complex is a marvel of creation, both intricate and subtle. The practice of yoga provides a great deal of benefits for our overly stressed lives. As we begin to explore our body, mind, and soul, we begin to learn how to live more harmonious, increasing our overall well-being.

I have created a 2 hour workshop filled with the techniques you need to help reduce your daily stress. This workshop will cover asanas (postures) to regulate the effects stress has on the body, breathing techniques to calm the nerves, and meditation to calm the mind.

“If you want to conquer the anxiety of life, live in the moment, live in the breath.” Amit Ray, Om Chanting and Meditation
